About Us

Richard C. Haber and Shannon J. Polk founded Haber Polk, LLP on August 1, 2005 in order to capitalize on the strong reputations they built for themselves as labor and employment law specialists and also to satisfy their entrepreneurial desires to grow a new breed of law firm intensely focused on the outstanding results they can and do achieve for their clients.  Candidly, that is what matters most to them.

As the former Chairman of the Labor and Employment Practice Group of one of Ohio’s largest firms, and selected as an Ohio “Super Lawyer” for seven years running, Mr. Haber is widely recognized as an elite civil trial lawyer who focuses on the representation of clients in all aspects of employment litigation and labor relations. Also dedicating his time to representing corporations and individuals while with one of the country’s premiere labor and employment defense firms, Mr. Polk has spent his career providing an array of services to clients from coast-to-coast, including several Fortune 500 companies, and has effectively served their interests both from a pre-suit counseling standpoint and as an advocate in state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and various other kinds of adversary proceedings.

In January of 2008, Haber Polk, LLP expanded its litigation practice by adding Andrew A. Kabat as an Equity Partner.  Mr. Kabat is an experienced and reputable trial lawyer who has completed over 70 jury trials in the fifteen years he has been practicing law.  He has handled almost every specialty area involving professionals (architects, accountants, lawyers, title companies, insurance agents, and real estate agents/brokers), commercial litigation, employment litigation, and intellectual property.

In December of 2009, Haber Polk, LLP  changed its name to Haber Polk Kabat, LLP and relocated its office to the Charter One Global Enterprise Center.  Located in a four-story, red-brick building behind Progressive Field in Cleveland’s historic Gateway District, the Charter One Global Enterprise Center is devoted to the development of emerging entrepeneurs and businesses.  A perfect fit for our firm.
